Inspect your gear and apparel to make sure it is functional and sellable. Check the "Looking For" and "Not Accepting" lists below for some guidance, but if you have any questions about something you want to consign just give us a call (804) 799-0488.

If you bought the item from an outdoor store like Walkabout or REI, we will likely accept it!

Fill out the online consignment form.  If you forget you can fill out one in the store, but you get bonus points if you fill it out ahead of time!

Drop by the shop, no appointment necessary!  There's a 15min loading zone in front of the building that you are welcome to use.   Feel free to call us at (804) 799-0488 if you have any questions. Our address is 114 N 2nd St, Richmond, VA 23219.

Consignors receive 60% of the sale of the item(s) if receiving store credit, or 40% of the sale if receiving a check.
Consignor may select store credit or check as payment. Store credit is available with the sale of the item. Balances can be checked online through the Consigner Portal link above. Checks are mailed to the Consignor around the middle of every month.
Consignors have the option to provide pricing guidance on the Consignment Agreement. Trail Hut will set the final price based on condition, demand, sales history and original MSRP.
We accept seasonally appropriate gear and apparel from brands sold in stores like REI and Walkabout Outfitters. We do not accept safety-rated equipment like rock climbing equipment (though we do accept climbing shoes) or helmets unless they are new with the tags/box. We do not accept bikes (but do accept cycling apparel). Please email or call us if you have any questions about items you would like to consign!
Yes! We have a 15 min loading zone in front of the building for consignors to drop off their items. There are many free 2 hour parking spaces in front of the shop on 2nd Street and a public paid parking garage across the street that you have to enter from Grace Street ($1.50 for 1 hour). There are also 15 min and 30 min parking spots in front of the Post Office on 2nd Street.
